Mintrex is delighted to be associated with the magnificent achievements of Capricorn Metals (ASX:CMM) and their successful completion and commissioning of the processing plant for the Karlawinda Gold Project in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. These achievements are particularly notable since they were achieved during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Mintrex was engaged to prepare the designs for a 3 Mtpa gold plant, upgraded to 4 Mtpa in execution, based on our proven designs. The engineering and procurement (EP) scope of work included the design of a 3 stage crushing circuit, ball mill, carbon-in-leach circuit, gravity concentration and intensive leach with its associated services and reagents.
This engagement followed our earlier work in 2017 when we carried out a Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) that outlined a technically and financially robust project.
The plant has been commissioned and Capricorn Metals successfully achieved first gold in the second quarter of 2021.
